General Questions

Sessions generally last 60 minutes and are held on a weekly basis. This regular schedule provides a consistent and structured framework for addressing your concerns, making steady progress, and maintaining continuity in your therapeutic journey.

The weekly format allows for ongoing support and helps build a strong therapeutic relationship, which is crucial for effective treatment and achieving your goals.

Private pay costs vary by therapist. For clients using insurance, out-of-pocket costs are usually lower, involving either a co-pay or co-insurance after the deductible is met.

The co-pay or co-insurance amount depends on the insurance provider and typically ranges from about 10% to 30% of the session fee.

Yes, teletherapy, also known as online therapy or virtual therapy, can be effective for many people. Research and clinical experience have shown that teletherapy can be as beneficial as in-person therapy for a range of mental health concerns. Here’s how it can be effective:

  1. Accessibility: Teletherapy provides access to mental health services for individuals who may have difficulty attending in-person sessions due to geographical distance, mobility issues, or busy schedules.
  2. Convenience: It allows for greater flexibility in scheduling and can be conducted from the comfort of your own home, which can reduce barriers such as transportation or time constraints.
  3. Continuity of Care: Teletherapy enables ongoing support even when in-person meetings are not possible, such as during travel, illness, or emergency situations.
  4. Comfort and Privacy: Many people find the virtual format to be less intimidating and more private, which can facilitate open communication and engagement in the therapeutic process.
  5. Effectiveness: Studies have found that teletherapy is effective for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress, and can lead to significant improvements in mental health outcomes.
  6. Therapeutic Alliance: The quality of the therapeutic relationship, or alliance, remains strong in teletherapy. Building a strong connection with your therapist is crucial for effective treatment, and this can be achieved through virtual sessions.
  7. Evidence-Based Practices: Many evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), are effective when delivered online. Therapists can use various digital tools and platforms to facilitate these approaches.

Billing Questions

The best way to determine if your insurance covers therapy is to contact your insurance provider directly. You can ask them about your mental health benefits, including whether they cover outpatient therapy, the types of therapy covered, and if your plan requires a referral. If you’re unsure, we can also assist you in verifying your benefits or provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. At Piiq Space, we take the worry out of the process for you. Before your first session, we’ll verify your insurance benefits to ensure that your plan covers therapy and inform you of any potential costs, such as co-pays or co-insurance. This way, you don’t have to stress about the financial details and can focus entirely on your therapy and personal growth. If your insurance doesn’t cover therapy or you prefer not to use it, we can discuss alternative payment options, including sliding scale fees or paying out-of-pocket.

We’re here to help make the process as seamless as possible!

Yes, absolutely!

If you don’t have insurance or prefer not to use it, you can pay for therapy out-of-pocket.

We offer competitive rates, and we’re also happy to discuss options like sliding scale fees or financial assistance to ensure therapy is accessible.

Payments can be made by debit, credit, or FSA/HSA cards.

Sliding scale pricing is a flexible payment structure that adjusts the cost of therapy based on your financial situation. We take income and other factors into consideration to determine a rate that fits your budget.

If you’d like to explore sliding scale options, please reach out to us, and we’ll work with you to find an affordable solution.

Currently, we do not offer package discounts, as each session is priced based on your therapist’s rate and your individual needs.

However, we strive to make therapy as affordable as possible and are happy to discuss payment options, sliding scale rates, or the use of FSA/HSA accounts to help reduce costs.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for missed sessions. As outlined in our cancellation policy, we require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

If you miss a session without giving proper notice, you’ll be charged the full session fee according to your therapist’s cancellation policy. However, we are always happy to reschedule appointments and will work with you to find a time that fits your schedule.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with understanding your pricing, insurance coverage, or payment options, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to support you on your therapy journey!
